Final Project

Here is the link to my group’s final project. It includes interviews from people that have experienced Hurricane Katrina, to students that went to school during it, and to students that came after the storm. The people in my group were Aurora, Stephanie, Kiara and I. Enjoy!

Panama Interview with Aurora

I interviewed Aurora and learned so much from her about Latin America.  After talking with her about where she is from, I want to visit Panama.  She is really brave for coming to New Orleans all the way from Panama.  She is away from her family and friends and what she is comfortable with.  She will take a lot from New Orleans, but she misses Panama and will return soon.

Three Triptych Images

The triptych image I find to be the most communicative is the Steve Jobs triptych, that is the one that I want to be graded. It has become public that he used sweatshops to create his products. He made millions of dollars from people that made less than a few cents per day. Although I know this, I still have an Iphone as well as people all around the world. The first image is sweatshop workers, and the second being Steve Jobs who is holding the product the workers have made, while only earning about 5 cents. The last image represents the millions of dollars Steve Jobs made off of people living and working in terrible conditions. I think this triptych is communicative because of how different it is from the others. The first and last images in this triptych are smaller than the middle image of Steve Jobs because I want Steve Jobs to be the focus. Money and sweatshop workers are the outcome because of Steve Jobs actions. Although I know he has died, his creations will be around for many years and the aftermath of some of his decisions have remained. Sweatshop workers are still making Apple products, and although he is not around to stop it, he did contribute to this abuse of workers while he was alive. The middle image is bigger because that is what I want the focus to be on. My two other ones are about my passions, but this one is about products I own and information I learned from the media. I wanted this triptych to be about the beginning of Apple, the start of a new era of technology. Although he was a genius, Steve Jobs also caused pain to many families.

My first triptych image has to do with my love for music. I used to play the flute for eleven years, as well as the guitar, piano and drums. It was my dream when I was younger to become famous for music.

My third triptych is about my love for cooking.

Photoshop With Wild Animals

I chose these images because it shows a lot about me. One of my greatest passions is working with animals, wild animals specifically. I have worked with elephants before, and it is one of my dreams to go to Malaysia or India and work with orangutans or giraffes. My second picture shows me dancing with Broadway Stars. The third picture, which unfortunately had a lot of technical problems, is me with animals again in a safari.

BP Duck- Photoshop Exercise

In class we used Photoshop and put a duck in the screen of what someone from BP is looking at.  It was my first time using Photoshop and I really liked it.  It was hard but it was fun.  When you click on the photo, it will bring you to my loyno website.  Here is the link.

Custom Header

My grandpa and I were very close, and he was in love with elephants.  Over the summer, I went to Sri Lanka and worked with elephants because I knew it was something he always wanted to do.  I picked this header instead of a real picture of elephants because Salvador Dali is my favorite artist.  His paintings with this animal never seizes to amaze me, and I have a poster of it in my room.
